Pat Metheny Metheny Mehldau Quartet
March 13th, 2007Metheny Mehldau Quartet is the latest release from Jazz Superstar Pat Metheny, and I
can only think of one word to describe this CD… AWESOME!
Metheny Mehldau Quartet will grab your attention right from the outset with A Night Away and won’t let go until the very last note of the very last song Marta’s Theme, which is another great track by the way.
Metheny Mehldau Quartet is a nicely varied, mix of 11 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly talented artist. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen.
The nice thing about a CD like this is when the talent is this rich even if Jazz isn’t your favorite style you still can’t help but appreciate the greatness of the artist.
My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore […as in “Stuck On REpeat”] is track 3, Fear And Trembling. Outstanding!
